Personalized Blessing and Healing Stories
Joan Marie accesses deep imaginal realms to write a
unique blessing or healing story exclusively for you.
The story she writes will address your specific
circumstances, needs and goals. These stories, in
collaboration with the Spirits of the four elements,
Earth, Water, Air and Fire, reflect the spiritual
universe, accessed through intuitive shamanic journey
and meditation.
Blessing stories celebrate the birth of a child,
commemorate a birthday or special event. They offer
a metaphorical story to enrich the beginning of a
child's life or a special event.
Joan Marie writes personalized Healing stories that
convey optimistic, positive metaphors and symbols
that will offer you a way to perceive the transformative
process.
The blessing story conveys the love and harmony
inherent in the universe. The metaphorical language
and images will present symbols representing special
gifts for the recipient of the story from each of the four
elements.
The stories Joan Marie writes frequently take the form
of a folktale. The stories represent, often on an
archetypal level, a landscape where a heroic quest
represents and models change. Our bodies and minds
make sense of our world and experience through
symbols and metaphors. By understanding how
change occurs symbolically, we can change the way
we perceive the world and transform our existential
experience of the world.

Some of the conditions and issues for which Joan
Marie has written healing stories are as follows
• Wish to become pregnant and bear a child
• Recovery from a serious car accident
• Sickness due to Lymes disease
• Spiritual malaise
• Recovery from surgery and associated pain
The stories are published as booklets measuring 8.5 x
5.5 inches, hand-sewn, and printed on 100% cotton
archival paper. Each story is about 1350 words, or six
pages in length.
Directions for a simple ritual you may perform in honor
of the four elements will be included with the booklet.
To commission a story:
Please allow 2 weeks for completion of story.
- e-mail Joan Marie. She will ask you to write a
brief (i.e. one or two paragraphs) description on
the issue you would like help changing. Please
include your phone number. The fee is $250
paid by check. Please include a photo of
yourself. You may also speak together by phone.
- Joan Marie will e-mail a draft of the story for your
final approval.
- Joan Marie will print the story for you in the form
of a booklet. The booklets are hand stitched, and
printed on 100% cotton archival paper.
- Joan Marie will mail you the story after reading it
to you on the phone. You and she will discuss
ways that you may utilize the imagery and the
language contained in the story to enhance your
own transformation, change and restoration.
- Joan Marie recommends that you read the story
several times or ask someone to read it to you.
Reading or listening will be most effective if you
are in a reverie, daydream or relaxed state.
Allow the images to wash over you. After awhile
you will probably put the booklet away and the
story will live in your imagination, changing and
adapting as you process the images.

Last year during a particularly stressful time in my life,
Joan offered to do a healing story for me. At the time I

very strong antibiotics, had been in two auto accidents

Joan did a shamanic journey for me during a time
when I needed medical attention. The story that came
out of the shamanic journey was rich with poetic words
and vivid images. The story spoke of an "Ancient
One" and of an "Ancient Illness" and had a few
different characters within the story. As I read the story
over and over again I felt that I was each one of the
characters spoken of in Joan's eloquent words. I

skills both as a shamanic healer and writer created a

John's Healing Story When you approach the mountain summit you see a small hut where you land and perch on the roof. Soon a small man who looks similar to the first comes out from inside and looks up at you. You tell him that you are flying to the mountain because your knee hurts and you are seeking healing and relief. The man disappears inside his hut and when he comes out has a handful of golden feathers. He tells you to jump down onto the ground and there he wraps the feathers around your knee. He tells you, “These feathers come from the golden sun bird. They shine and hold the warmth and healing power of sunlight.” As he wraps them you feel light, warmth and energy infuse your every cell. The man tells you that the warmth of the sun melts the ice crystals on the mountain peaks, releasing the pure crystalline water that nourishes flowers, grasses, trees and all that lives and grows along the sides of mountain streams. |
